Innovative cancer therapy in the heart of Cologne
The IOZK is a treatment center with its own laboratories in the center of Cologne. In addition to the examination and treatment rooms, there are conference rooms, administration and modern laboratories on 2,300 square meters.
Practice clinic
Around 60 specialized employees treat around 350 new patients from Europe, Asia, Africa, America and the Middle East every year. The team of doctors has many years of experience in immuno-oncology therapy, and the leading scientists have spent decades researching and publishing in this field.
The equipment at the IOZK also meets the highest standards - with five systems for locoregional hyperthermia, one system for transurethral hyperthermia and two devices for whole-body hyperthermia.
The IOZK laboratories
The IOZK has a diagnostics laboratory for research and special immunological diagnostics. In addition, it has its own state-of-the-art manufacturing laboratory (GMP) for the production of the patient-specific vaccine IO-VAC®. The qualified and specialized team works in accordance with the provisions of the German Medicines Act and the European GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practice). The IOZK is the only laboratory in Europe to have received approval to produce an individual vaccine to combat cancer from dendritic cells using oncolytic viruses and the patient's own tumor antigens.
