Presentation of the UNESCO-L'Oréal "Women in Science" Award
The award for medicine and immunology goes to Prof. Kayo Inaba, professor at the Graduate School of Biostudies at Kyoto University in Japan. She specializes in research on dendritic cells. She was the first scientist to prove that these cells can be treated outside the body and returned to the organism to trigger an immune system response.
