IOZK lecture on the effects of multimodal immunotherapy for pons glioma using the liquid biopsy analysis method.
The GW Research Days took place at George Washington University in Washington D.C. on April 11. There, the working group of Roger J. Packer and Javad Nazarian (Children's National Health System, Washington / George Washington University / IOZK) reported on the effects of multimodal immunotherapy for pons glioma using the liquid biopsy analysis method.
Ponsgliomas are inoperable tumors that occur in the lower part of the brain stem and mainly affect children. Until now, the progression of brain tumors has been diagnosed using imaging techniques (MRI). Using the new "liquid biopsy " platform, the aim is now to obtain more precise examination results that cannot be misinterpreted due to the phenomenon of pseudoprogression. The experts report a sharp drop in molecular tumor antigens (allele frequency of the H3F3A mutation) under the therapy principle used at the IOZK . They hope that this examination method will provide even more precise information on the course of the disease and how the therapy responds.
