IOZK lecture on the effects of multimodal immunotherapy in pontine glioma using the liquid biopsy analysis method.

The GW Research Daystook place on April 11 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. There, the working group led by Roger J. Packer and Javad Nazarian (Children’s National Health System, Washington / George Washington University / IOZK) reported on the effects of multimodal immunotherapy in a pontine glioma using the liquid biopsy analysis method.

Pons gliomas are inoperable tumors that occur in the lower part of the brain stem, primarily affecting children. Until now, the progression of brain tumors has been diagnosed using imaging techniques (MRI). The new "liquid biopsy"platform aims to obtain more accurate test results that cannot be misinterpreted due to the phenomenon of pseudoprogression. Experts report a sharp decline in molecular tumor antigens (allele frequency of the H3F3A mutation) under the treatment principle appliedat the IOZK. They hope that this examination method will provide even more accurate information about the course of the disease and how the treatment is responding.
