The German Medical Journal reports on a clinical study of dendritic cell vaccination in patients with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) who received multiple injections prior to surgery. The DC vaccinations proved to be safe, well tolerated, and effective: in one in four patients, no cancer cells were detectable in the tumor at the time of surgery.
