The prestigious award is presented under the patronage of Karl-Josef Laumann, Minister of Health for North Rhine-Westphalia, for outstanding and progressive patient care.
The award honors clinics, practicing physicians, researchers, and healthcare companies that have made outstanding contributions to innovation, transparency, and quality in medicine. The IOZK received second prize in the "Oncology" category.

The award ceremony took place on November 17, 2020, as part of a scientific symposium.
